Moab April 2-7 2018 Planning Thread
« on: September 02, 2017, 06:45:58 pm »
We're targeting the week immediately following Easter Jeep Safari to avoid trail congestion. Post up if you're interested in attending.

Lodging for me will be at Bowen Motel in Moab. We stayed there a few years ago and it's clean and on the main drag so walking to shops and food is easy. Here'e a link to their web site if you care to check for pricing and availability online -->  http://www.bowenmotel.com  There are obviously other lodging options so feel free to shop around.

The plan is to trek some of the trails we traversed last time while mixing it up with some new adventures. Trail ratings are from 1-10 and we plan to hit 5+ trail ratings. If you're wanting to run a 5- trail post up so we can plan and get it on the schedule. We try to coordinate the trails so that we leave and return daily at a reasonable times. Sometimes this means running two or three trails in one day. I'll post up the planned trails with descriptions in a follow up post once we get a headcount and rig capabilities.

Here's a link to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers club in Moab for a list of trails and what to expect. http://www.rr4w.com/index.cfm

Also, here's a link to Moab literature and other things to do and see. We should plan an evening trip to watch the sunset in the eye of the needle in Arches national park.  http://www.discovermoab.com/family.htm

Post up and join us if you can. It will be a great week of fun, adrenaline and camaraderie.
